First of all this paper was on analysis of the reasons of the crane accidents, and proposed the scheme of safety monitoring and data recording system for tower crane with the real-time monitoring of the work, recording, and prevention of dangerous operations in production.based on the national mandatory relevant stipulations of safe management and operation. The safety monitoring and data recording system for tower crane combined sensor technology, field bus technology and safety evaluation technology, which was composed of the master controller and data collection nodes. The design adopted TI MSP430 series MCU as a core to constitute a master-slave of the monitoring system. The main controller realized the design goal of monitoring, recording and RS485, with good interface for embedded applications. The system carried on data collection of the key parameters which effected a tower crane safety operation: rising weight, height, range and diversion,which were transferred to the control room, in which the real-time accurate key running state can be showed to the crane operator on LCD, and the system can send the alarm signal to driver to indicate correct operation based on lifting performance curve and security work zone. From a security perspective, this paper put forward the fuzzy safety grade evaluation method, which was used to evaluate a tower crane running safety ratings, and the safety evaluation result was showed on the LCD to enhance the safety awareness of the operator. This system can help prevent tower crane operator from serious accidents because of error operation, which can greatly improve the safety performance of tower crane, and provide a safer environment.
