Cities are expanding with the rapid development of the national economy and improvement of people's living standards. Power load of cities is also increasing year after year. More power transmission facilities are constructed downtown to meet the power requirement of cities,However overhead lines are not feasible due to the scarcity of city land.The importance of the underground high-voltage transmission lines requires higer quality of cable line construction and operation. Undergroud High-Voltage Transmission lines are more necessary than ever before.Cross-nation and cross-region power grid is formed in some developped contries nowadays, like EDF in France, TEPCO in Japan, TVA in US, etc, from which we can learn a lot about the Undergroud High-Voltage Transmission techniques.Demestic and foreign development of the Undergroud High-Voltage Transmission techniques are introduced in this thesis, and power cables, tunnels, failure analysis, submarine cable, and VSC-HVDC are disscussed in this thesis as well.
