The brushless DC motor uses electronic commutation instead of mechanical one, to overcome a range of issues of the traditional DC motor caused by the brush friction. Furthermore, with many advantages such as good speed regulation, little volume and high efficiency, it is widely used in national various areas of economic production.In the control strategy of brushless DC motor, the most characteristic of the fuzzy control which is based on intelligent control is that it doesn't depend on the object model, but utilize the rules established by fuzzy control to make reasoning in order to get proper control variable. However, the integrating element is not involved in the single fuzzy control method, the steady-state error is difficult to eliminate. Therefore, this system compounds the traditional PID control and the fuzzy control, expecting to achieve better dynamic and static performance. Large amounts of data need to be dealt with for the realization of the digital fuzzy PID algorithm. The application of FPGA is providing a hardware foundation for the realization of the algorithm, which makes the fuzzy PID control of the brushless DC motor possible.According to a series of theoretical analysis and hardware requirements, fuzzy adaptive PID controller is designed, which uses linear membership function and simplifies fuzzy reasoning process, thus reducing the complex degree of hardware implementation. The brushless DC motor control system is designed by hybrid modeling in SG/Simulink. The body of brushless DC motor is established in MATLAB/Simulink, and control module achieved through FPGA is completed by SG. Uses can plan system and hardware in the graphical environment, during the seamless integration between the SG and Simulink by the Gateway module of SG. Based on the advantages of computer simulation, the period of control system design and finalization is shortened.The validity of the fuzzy PID algorithm has been testified by the simulation results. In the end, opinions on the existing problem of fuzzy PID control of brushless DC motor and further studies are put forward.
