This paper made modal analyses of the hoop-rib deployable antenna on both deployed and folded states, studied the influence of the cross-sectional area of hoop and rib to the structure eigenfrequency. A conclusion has been drawn that: the eigenfrequency decreases with the area of the hoop increasing at the deployed status. the eigenfrequency goes down with the area of the rib going up. The larger the area of the hoop is, the eigenfrequency firstly goes up then goes down at the folded state. Besides the first rib that closest to the center, bigger area contributes more to the structure eigenfrequency. Based on the conclusions above, this paper presents an optimum design model searching for the minimum mass with the contraints of eigenfrequency on both deployed and folded states, the design variables include the cross-sectional area of hoop and diffenent ribs.The optimum result anastomoses with the analysis result above, which indicates the validity of the analysis method and the rationality of the optimum outcomes, which takes on a guide meaning to the manufacture of the hoop-rib deployabe antenna.This paper proposed a hang system which possess compensation gravity ability. Based on the 10-meter and 20-meter antenna models, ground test accuracy simulations have been discussed. According to the simulation result, also an optimum design model have been built, the model searching for the maxmimum accuracy and the minimum deformation with the variables of the structure paremeters of the system itself. After the optimized procedure, both the accuracy of the two models have been heightened, the 20-meter antenna model owning 12 compensation points has a higher accuracy than the 10-meter model possessing with 6 compensation points. This outcomings reveal that the groud deploy accuracy of the hoop-rib deployable antenna in the hang system is acceptable, and it can be improved by more compensation points. It find a right derection to the ground application of the big aperture and high flexible deplyable antenna.
