Vehicles have made great contribution to the development of modern society and improve human living conditions. However, with the significant increase in car ownership, car crashes caused by the damage of accidents are increasing. Therefore, collision warning system to carry out vehicle safety research has become a very important and realistic significance issue.Vehicles collision warning system uses detection equipments by detecting the surrounding environment of the information. According to information obtained, it drives them to meet the speed requirements and to maintain a safe distance between vehicles by some guidelines and appropriate evaluation method. If necessary, it automatically or alert the driver to take measures to avoid danger. This paper considers the design of a pavement condition and other factors as well as security in three-dimensional space.Firstly,this paper introduced the topic research background and significance, described the domestic and international research situation of collision warning system, illustrated the chapters and main contents in the thesis.Then, it further analysised the basis theory of vehicle collision avoidance warning systems-vehicle safety.distances modell. Based on use for reference the results of previous studies, it improves and simplifies the system safe distance models, amended the vertical model and the lateral model, which consider the vehicle environment factors such as the conditions of weather and road. Combination the vertical-down distance of information (water, ice or snow and potholes ground level) which make the vehicle safety warning range reasonable expanded from planar region to three-dimensional region. e.t.c, vehicle's safe space.Vehicle's safe space as a new concept and related theory is useful for the study of all-round smart anti-collision warning system or adaptive cruise control (commonly known as automatic driving system).Subsequently, the paper divided vehicle three-dimensional safety collision warning system into data acquisition unit, control unit and display unit of three parts, according with this device achieve feature. It expounded the linkages between control unit and the other units. The key technology used in a detailed description and study, according to the system by the unit function, and three-dimensional safety vehicle collision warning system in the automobile physical layout made a brief introduction.Then, design the system hardware.It including power modules, reset circuit, the clock oscillation circuit, RS-232C serial communications interface circuits, digital signal acquisition module, analog acquisition module, sound and light alarm module, LCD modules and other hardware circuits. This preparated provides hardware support for the software program. Procedures for the preparation of the system, which includes a main program and seven subprogram described the processes of each program in detail. The system was verified after the completion of software development, according with the preparation of the system software requirements and system design requirements. The conclusion of analysis shows that the design of vehicle three-dimensional safety collision warning system are reliable and reasonable. The work of whole system running status well. It reached the design of various functions, and basically meet the system design needs requirements.Finally, the paper summaries and prospects the study of three-dimensional collision warning systems, and also presents the shortcomings and the future direction of development.
