The rising of rapid transit on freeway is changing the pattern of overland traffic in ourcountry. The traffic safety condition is becoming increasingly serious in recent years. Thetraffic accidents have become a worldwide problem which make great lost to our familiesand country. While the frequent accidents have badly touched the confidence of peopleusing them since the freeways were devote to using, the statistic shows that the accidentsresulted from rear-end collision are in the majority among the accidents in expressway. Thestatistic shows that the rear-end collision is of the majority in all expressway accidents. Therefore it becomes an urgent necessity to develop a high-performance collision warningsystem. This paper conducts both the dynamic and kinematic analysis of the automobilebraking process. Referring to many research fruits in automobile anti-collision of the world, the paper establishes a simple and applicable model of anti-collision alarm system based onthe automobile’s movement status. By analyzing the cause of cear-end collision, thedissertation puts forward the system requirements and then designs scheme. The wholesystem consists of various sensors, data collection circuit, alarming circuit of sound andlight, display circuit of LCD screen. The high-powered chip,as the central processing unit,is used to control all the circuits for improving real-time character of the system. This paperalso analyzes and compares the sensors, then complete the hardware system. The systemsoftware is programmed with C and assembly language and debug on the hardware.According the environment of the automobile, many effective measures from thesoftware and hardware are adopted to enhance the reliability of the system. At last, experiments are carried out on the collision warning system and it is confirmed that thesystem basically meets the design requirements.
