With more attention of our country to building energy-efficient, there have been new ETICS materials into use. Foam glass, which is a new environment-friendly inorganic wall thermal insulation material, is one of them. But the problem is that some insulation systems used for wall in haste without any detailed design theory and large weathering test. The result is, after a short period,insulation systems frequently crack, flake or even whole slicing from the wall when in a bad natural climatic conditions. These new insulation systems need corresponding research to do support.There was a considerable number of engineering challenges for the cracking of insulation wall during the ten years when we had explored to External thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) materials and construction techniques. There is a lot of controversy about the causes of cracks on the wall. In the text, we argues for that the lack of knowledge on the temperature fields and temperature stress fields of ETICS is one of the main factors. Temperature stress is one of the main factors of ETICS's durability, while the temperature fields are basis on the study of temperature stress.Foam glass is external insulation material with good functions and features,such as fireproof, waterproof, corrosion-resistant, non-combustible, moth,non-toxic,non-aging, non-radioactive,insulation, light-weight, mechanical-strength,dimensional-stability, and good-adhesion. So in the text, we study the external foam glass thermal insulating system with tile on walls and the external foam glass thermal insulating system with coating on Walls. We paste temp-erature sensors on each interface of functional layer of the wall in the test to measure the temperature changes. It can provide support for later analysis of temperature stress and strain of the ETICS in weathering test. We used COMSOL software to do the whole test process simulation to verify the consistency of the measured values and the theoretical values.Combined with simulation analysis of COMSOL software, temperature distribution of two different foam glass exterior thermal insulation system has been studied in the whole external thermal insulation weathering test. Analysis showed that, the protective cover of decoration noodles system can stop heat transfer effectively. The reason is probably due to the bigger thickness of protective cover, bigger thickness of decoration noodles itself and low thermal conductivity.The whole weathering test results showed that, the surface of protective cover have the biggest temperature variation with grassroots surface, and the second temperature variation with decoration noodles. This showed that, because of the obstructing of foam glass, temperature variation of foam glass protective cover and grassroots surface dropped substantially. Namely, the thermal insulation systems of foam glass have obvious thermal insulation, which can effectively reduce influence of indoor temperature fluctuations from outdoor.In the course of the weathering test, the phenomenon of thermal bridge is observe along the site close to the window. Double glazing can be used to reduce the heat transfer coefficient, and thus to reduce the effect of the phenomenon of thermal bridge at the junctions of window and wall.Overall, because of its thickness of protective layer, low thermal conductivity of finish layer, large roughness of surface, and the hot dip galvanized steel wire anchored of protective layer can ease the stress concentration better, the external foam glass thermal insulating system with tile on walls'durability is better than the external foam glass thermal insulating system with coating on walls.
