Phenomenon of arc is complicated process coupled temperature field and flow field when circuit breaker is interrupting. The energy generated by the arc directly impact the parameters of flow field and even breaking capacity. So, it has an important significance for arc studying on the characteristics of arc and product performance. Two-dimensional structures can not reflect the variation of the arc when we need to the compute complicated structures or more accurate three-dimensional flow field. It is necessary to establish a three-dimensional dynamic arc model for studying.Three-dimensional flow field control equations of high-voltage SF6 circuit breaker in cylindrical coordinate system were deduced. The control equations were scattered by FVM methods and hexahedral structure grids. Then deal the flux equations with TVD scheme. The finite volume TVD scheme was received and calculated by self-programming. Validate the program by emery issue and analyze the bow shock, expanding shock, reflection shock and mach stem. The results showed its feasibility, the ability of shock wave capturing and the highly calculation accuracy.3D dynamic energy source arc model and flow field model of the high-voltage SF6 circuit breaker were established. Considering the influence of pressure and temperature in the whole flow field by the change of current, arc model and flow model of the rotary-gas circuit breaker was coupled by computer to analyze the cooperative effect of arc and flow field. The result of the simulation showed the process of three-dimensional arc shape changing from burning to quenching and the influence of pressure by arc on the nozzle upstream.
