Reasonable optimization design scheme of electrical appliances can help to improve capability of electrical appliances, enhance reliability and reduce costs. Based on numerical calculation of electromagnetic field inverse electromagnetic problem, with the intention of optimization design for electrical apparatus insulation, is one of electrical appliance's optimization design outlet which people have made constant effort and research at. As usual, inverse electromagnetic problem is disintegrated into a series of positive electromagnetic problems, solved by using optimization algorithm, obtaining optimization result finally. Since inverse electromagnetic problem refers to lots of variables, large iterative steps and a large number of locally optimal solutions, the traditional certain algorithm is difficult to search globally optimal solution of inverse electromagnetic problem. Therefore optimization design scheme of electrical appliances has become one of the heated points in domestic and alien learning fields.Firstly, one kind of computing platform is developed based on the finite element method for basic theories and subdivision of tetrahedron for meeting the requirements of numerical calculation accuracy and efficiency which three dimensional inverse electric problem of multimedia and complex structure demanded for. Calculator accuracy and efficiency of the three dimensional electric field computing platform is verified by solving examples. At the same time, three dimensional electric field of SF6 circuit breaker is computed accurately using the computing platform, obtaining distribution of electric potential, distribution of electric intensity and the largest electric intensity value in the arc quenching chamber. The calculation results proved that this computing platform could be used to solve three dimensional inverse electric problems.Secondly, an improved tabu algorithm is presented to meet the requirements that three dimensional inverse electric problem asked for. Improved algorithm's ideology and implementation process are set forth in detail; meanwhile, global feasibility and high efficiency of algorithm are tested by typical mathematical function. And the efficiency of algorithm is compared with several different calculators verifying improved tabu algorithm meeting the engineering requirement.Finally, three dimensional inverse electrical calculator's program is figured out through combining three dimensional electrical calculator's program with improved tabu algorithm. Using the program to optimize three dimensional structure of electrode, obtained best three dimensional structures which minimum the largest of electric field strength value, three dimensional electric field calculator program and optimization algorithm is effective tested by optimization result.
