Magnetic valve controllable Reactor is a new reactive power compensation equipment and has relative less response time and an approximate linear A-V characteristic. It is the first device in the area of voltage regulation and reactive power compensation.This paper analyzes the magnetic valve controllable reactor hardware structure and working principle,and pushes out its mathematical model, and its electromagnetism equations is presented. On this basis, using ATmel the company's ATmega64 microcontroller as the core of their control, according to the measured size of the data to change the firing angle to achieve automatic control of the reactor, so as to achieve smooth and continuous regulation of the purpose of the reactor capacity.This paper reviews the development history of the reactor, analyzed the various characteristics of the reactor and described the strength of the magnetic valve type reactor, proposing the use of a control reliable reactor design with ATmega64 microcontroller, and introduces hardware and software design of the system.
