Currently,the strapdown inertial navigation system based on fiber optic gyro is an important direction of the development of the ship navigation system.In order to meet the miniaturization and high-performance requirements, we should broaden the application field of the strapdown system based on fiber optic gyro. The paper mainly researches how to use the DSP and FPGA to realize the design of the hardware and software of the strapdown inertial navigation system based on fiber optic gyro.Firstly, the development of the hardware platform of the strapdown inertial navigation system at home and abroad is briefly introduced, the principle and characteristics of the strapdown inertial navigation system is discussed at detail and the composition of the strapdown inertial navigation system are showed in the paper.Secondly, the hardware platform of the strapdown inertial navigation system based on fiber optic gyro is studied, the design of the hardware platform is discussed, and the schematic diagram and PCB diagram are given in the paper. Beginning with choosing the DSP devices, the significant advantage brought by using the TMS320C6713B processing chip as the core of the system compared with the VC33 is analyzed. Then the reasons to choose the new DSP chip are briefly given, the design of the DSP peripheral circuit and the process of the designing software are introduced in detail. In the compile environment of the CCS System, the Programming implementation and structural characteristics of each Function Module are briefly introduced. The main programming language is C language, and the interrupt service routine and the system self-starting procedures are written by C language combined with assembly language.Then, the features of the FPGA and the design of the related peripheral circuits are introduced. In the software environment of ISE and ModelsimXE system, the implementation of the program design of the relevant modules including the liquid crystal display interface controller, data compression, and SD card controller is given.Finally, according to the debugging environment of the hardware platform and technical requirements, the hardware validation circuit system is debugged and the debugging results are given. The results show that the design of the hardware system is suitable, the desired objectives are achieved, and the high precision, real-time performance and stability requirements are satisfied appropriately.
