Intelligent coatings monitoring system (called ICMS) is affected by environmental corrosien when it applied in aviation structural health monitoring, so the ageing resistance of ICMS key part senor is an outstanding issue to be resolved.A series of studies discussed in this paper aiming at the ageing resistance of ICMS were illustrated as follows1. The ageing resistance of ICMS sensor was defined. The main factors that affected its ageing resistance were analyzed, and an essential frame of the ICMS sensor accelerated corrosion/ageing experiment has been established.2. An ozone pre-oxidizing contrast test was carried out and it was proved that ozone has an obvious impact on accelerating the aircraft active organic coatings ageing, and the accelerated corrosion/ageing experiment spectrum used for ICMS senor have been improved.3. Problems discovered in accelerating corrosion/aging experiments, such as not strong sensor welded joint, improper surface treatments of samples and the crack easy to forme in the silicone rubber which fixed the senor lines, were the main cause for the failures of anti-corrosion coatings in anticipation. A perfected anti-corrosion technique of ICMS was established by improving the problems which were exposed in accelerated experiments.4. The accelerated corrosion/aging experiment spectrum established in this paper could reappear the corrosion damages and course well which occurred in active typical aircraft structure under the service environment. Therefore, the rationality of the test method was proved. 5. Based on corrosion antitheses, an approximate corrosion equivalent coefficient was calculated. It was clearly that the ICMS sensors installed in aircraft structures were able to have a 25 years'calendar life with the anti-corrosion technique established in this paper.6. The effect of corrosion environment on LC4 aluminum alloy was studied by fatigue test using samples with different surface coatings and different corrosion periods, and the reasons decreased samples fatigue life were discussed in the end.
