Hardware verification technology has become the bottleneck of the hardware circuit design, verification throughout the product development process to gain the human resources and time resources become more ambitious, but the efficiency and reusability of the verification is very low. Therefore, prior to market, how to provide an efficient and reusable verification platforms and a full verification of the product is necessary. In this thesis, we use Multifunction Vehicle Bus Controller to guide the verification project, study VMM-based hardware verification technology; it has theoretical and practical importance.This thesis in-depth studies three kinds of simulation-based verification techniques (transaction-based verification , coverage-driven verification and assertion-based verification technology), analysis of their technical characteristics, sum up their strengths and weaknesses; and then merge the three kinds of technology together at the level of verification platform under the guidance of verification methodology; second studies the model theory that based on finite state machine (FSM), use the hardware circuit FSM model to extract feature points to be verified and then convert it to transaction-level model, and then achieve the verification platform based on the hardware description and verification language SystemVerilog.Finally, we use the verification platform to complete the verification of the Manchester encoding and decoding modules in MVBC, and run it on the simulation software VCS. The analysis of the results shows that the verification platform can guarantee a faster verification speed, improve the efficiency of verification, and maintained a Hierarchical verification platform with the advantages of modular and reusable, while application of FSM model theory makes the extraction more complete functional coverage points.
