Diesel generators have been widely used in telecommunications, finance, hospitals, markets and industrial and mining enterprises as emergency standby power, and applied to military and fieldwork, vehicles and vessels as independent power for special purposes. Diesel generator provide people with convenience, but also disturb people live and work because of the vibration. In military mobile power, Solving diesel generator vibration problem is urgentThe vibration isolators of a diesel generator produced by an enterprise was selected in accordance with the traditional experience; Vibration intensity was tested and evaluated in the paper for the 120kw and 75kw diesel generators. The result indicates vibration-level drop of each isolation pad is more than 10dB.Because of the electrical components malfunction of 120kw diesel generator, Finite element modeling was built for the 120kw diesel generator with ANSYS in the paper. Numerical calculation of vibration displacement reflects the real structure vibration characteristics. The calculation results showed the vibration displacement may be excessive in particular frequency. Results obtained from harmonic response analysis showed the lager vibration displacement may occur mainly in the initiating or stopping stage.Four optimization scheme including adding two vibration isolators, increasing the stiffness of the vibration isolators, increasing the diameter of the four vibration isolators under the control cabinet and increasing the mass of the control cabinet was presented in this paper. The calculation results showed the vibration displacement, velocity and acceleration of the control cabinet should reduce.
