Transport development plays a fundamental, guiding role in country and region's economic and social development. As the nation increasing investment in infrastructure continuously, expressway construction has entered a new stage of development, and traffic pressure has been greatly eased. But due to the weakness of toll collection technology, the single mode toll collection method, cash charge, restricts the further improvement of vehicle transit efficiency, which becomes the bottleneck of traffic, especially in the toll stations around metro area and provincial borders. So there comes a new research project how to increase the vehicle speed in order to ease the traffic pressure. Toll Collection System (also known as Electronic Toll Collection System, referred to as ETC) is an important field of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) research and application, adopting dedicated short-range microwave communication (DSRC) technology and others, with which vehicles can drive through toll stations without a stop. It will help resolve the current difficulties.Main contents of this research:1. System concrete demands and technology indicators;2. Non-cash payment and ETC overall solutions;3. ETC system solutions;4. ETC system constitutes;5. ETC design and implementation.The system adopted an" lusive, front set, center set, low speed" lane layout program to fit JiangXi Express Way Toll System, which maximum improved he traffic efficiency of the vehicles;ETC system has improved the vehicle detection technology, used three coils vehicle detection technology, authentically achieved automatic processing for exceptions into the driveway vehicle and reached the unattended goal.
