Computer simulation was considered more and more important in the design of engine control system. Nowadays, ECU development and design process is based on "V model" platform. Engine real-time model studied in this article is one of the crucial parts in "V model" development process:ECU Hardware-in-the-loops simulation test.Researching and comparing various kinds of modeling theory about engine, the meanvalue model was applied as basic theory of modeling according to the requirements of HIL simulation system, because of its integrity and maturity. In addition, a complete real-time model of gasoline engine with displacement 1.342L was finished. This thesis focused on the subject of modeling each module for ordinary gasoline engine, including:intake manifold air dynamic characteristics, intake manifold fuel dynamic characteristics and power generation, carried out a series of theoretical and experimental model about cooling and exhaust systems simultaneously. Refers to the application of new technology like turbo charging and variable valve timing, the related calculation model was created as well to perfect the whole gasoline real-time model. At the same time, in order to enhance reliability of overall architecture and simulating application, the software model was divided into two parts:model-structure and data-structure, Which resulted in clearer physical meaning, better real-time ability and accuracy. Both model parameters identification and model validation were carried out by means of steady bench test. The results of offline simulation and online simulation shows that gasoline real-time model built in this thesis was reliable and feasible, all performance parameters met the requirements of HIL simulation system. The relative error of intake manifold air pressure, air mass flow, engine speed and torque etc, were less than 5%. Meanwhile the model accuracy could be improved by optimal model parameter configuration.
