The Study On Botanical Garden Planning Of South Subtropics Based On Ecological Leisure Culture

With the rapid development of our national economy and improvement of social civilization, people begin to pursue the spiritual enjoyment and pleasure in their increasingly satisfying material life. Having general features of landscape, Botanical Garden, integrating plant protection, scientific research, education of popular science, sightseeing and touring, provides leisure service as well. But conventional garden planning based on "functionalism" pays more attention to the practical functions of the botanical garden, somewhat inadequate in planning visitor's leisure activities, participations and interaction, which failes to meet the tourists'needs for relaxation and manifest the characteristics and development requirements of the era.Through research in "ecological leisure" in combination of the concept of "culture", the dissertation proposes a brand-new concept of "the eco-leisure-cultural botanical garden", aims at exploring the application of "ecological leisure culture" in landscape architecture and planning of " the eco-leisure-cultural botanical garden". Research methods and specific steps are as follows:(1) Theoretical constructionCollecting and reading through the relevant literatures facilitates the author a good understanding of related concepts and development of botanical garden planning, and illustrations of the definition, functions, classifications of a botanical garden, on the basis of which the thesis raises the concept of "the eco-leisure-cultural botanical garden" by iniatively integrating the theory of ecological leisure culture with the construction of a botanical garden. In other words, an eco-leisure-cultural botanical garden, on the premise of satisfying essential functions of a traditional garden, denotes such a place where provides eco-leisure activities like participation, experiencing and interaction with certain cultural taste by taking advantage of its natural or artificial scenic environment. Essentially, such a garden falls into a comprehensive botanical garden, oriented in sightseeing,touring and relaxation, supplemented by scientific research, science education and production. On the basis of the concept of the eco-leisure-cultural botanical garden, the thesis discusses its content, type, features and functions, seeks for the effective ways of its presentation, regards natural conditions and social conditions as two impact factors, analyzes cultural features of the botanical garden from the perspectives of history, regional features, humanistic spirit and urban culture, its main contents such as plants, landscape architecture, ecological leisure activities and the space construction of botanical garden such as a resting space and space for acitivies. Probing into the planning of an eco-leisure-cultural botanical garden, the thesis proposes five planning principles and the ACLP planning mode made up of planning analysis, planning conception, planning layout and district planning.(2) Theoreti cal practi ceBased on the theory, ways of presentation and planning methods, the thesis explores its application in the planning of Nanning Qingxiushan Forest Botanical Garden. Taking "ecology, leisure and culture" to represent the botanical garden as the theme, it focuses on its eco-environmental benefits, highlights specified plant gardens,Undertakes eco-leisure activities with the natural environment and enhances the cultural taste with the humanistic landscape. In particular, it involves the landscape structure of "three galleries, twenty eight districts, thirty eight scenic spots", and puts forward a practicable planning involvoing plants, architectures, water landscapes, ecological leisure activities infrastructural facilities as well as facilities for sightseeing.On the basis of the plannin of QingXiushan Forest Botanical Garden, the thesis summarizes ways of present the eco-leisure culture and planning of the botanical garden, summarizes its reseach accomplishments and provides some suggestions and recommendations for the planning and design of the Subtropics botanical garden.
