Nowdays, with the rapid development of economy and the improvement of people`s living standard, indoor air quality has received extensive attention. One of the future researches is improving people's quality of life. Kitchen is an important and indispensable space in people`s life, however, the environment is deteriorated greatly. Till now, Research on diffusion laws of pollutants is the basis for controlling the pollutants, therefore, it is significant. Many scholars in China and the abroad have carried out a number of related studies about diffusion laws of pollutants, but there are few researches on the home kitchen at present.CFD numerical simulation software is used widely in the research field of pollutant diffusion. Because the operation of the software is professional and requires strong theoretical knowledge, it is difficult to use for laypeople. Therefore, it has important practical significance to develop a pollutant diffusion simulation software with friendly and simply operating interface. In this paper, authors choose CO2 as a representative of the exhaust gas whose molecular weight is heavier than air (or called heavy-gas), and CO is lighter than air (or light-gas). Considering the thermal pollution in the cooking area, authors establish the diffusion model of concentration, exergy and exergy intensity, and develop a dynamic simulation software of pollutants diffusion through the measurement analysis of the spread of contaminants in the kitchen.First of all, authors measure the temperature and the concentration of exhaust-gas (CO2 and CO) from burning liquid-gas in the kitchen with a range hood, revise the Gauss model with the experimental data to obtain pollutant concentration diffusion models which satisfy the experimental condition. Then authors establish exergy and exergy intensity models of the pollutants on the base of the concentration diffusion models. Secondly, authors deal with the experimental data to obtain the diffusion exergy, heat exergy, total exergy and total exergy intensity and use total exergy and total exergy intensity as new pollution assessment indices. The indices show the total pollution situation under the joint action of all pollutants, so it is more superior, exact and practical to evaluate pollution level comprehensively. Then, based on Visual C++ 6.0 platform and using a third-party control (Tee Chart) programming techniques, we develop a dynamic simulation software. The software can shows the pollutants distribution of all specified planes in the kitchen, so as to put forward valuable suggestions for effectively controlling pollutants in the kitchen. Finally, combined with an example, we show the simulation results of pollutant concentration distribution in all specified planes of the kitchen, from which we can see that the software is user-friendly, easy to understand operation process, can be used in analyzing and simulating a kitchen pollutant distribution, and can be used as the kitchen facilities when we do the designs to improve the air quality in the kitchen.
