Since Edison's first incandescent lamp invented, in the industrial lighting, home lighting and special lighting areas, the type of lamp has experienced a series of great changes. For example, halogen lamps, fluorescent lamps, high pressure mercury lamps, high pressure xenon lamps, metal halide lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, electrodeless fluorescent lamps and LED light source, have been springing up on stage. That is an important milestone in the development of human civilization. Due to the good color rendering, high lumen, little heat loss and other factors of fluorescent lamp, it plays a very important role.In the Introduction part, it first introduced the historical development of fluorescent lamps, then the existence of the development of electronic ballasts for fluorescent lamps and a brief analysis of difficult problems that the current status of its geographical and future trends with fluorescent possible to talk about this subject and necessity.Chapterâ…¡presented the start up process of fluorescent lamps, and introduced the basic circuit structure of electronic ballast for fluorescent lamp, and detailed discussion and analysis of the fluorescent lamp electronic ballast circuit of several typical features were given.In the third chapter, the principle and character of PFC circuit was analysis, at the same time, several typical resonant ignition circuit analysis and comparison made. Finally, the parameter design of electronic ballast for fluorescent lamp was introduced with loss analysis.On the basis of the parameters design method introduced by the previous paper, this chapter introduced the simulation platform of self-oscillating electronic ballast based on Pspice. The precise model of the key components in the circuit were described, especially the magnetic components, power devices and fluorescent lamp.The fifth chapter described the traditional two stage fluorescent lamp electronic ballast control chip, and on this basis, introduced a novel integrated control chip for the two stage fluorescent lamp electronic ballast, which was designed and manufactured on the cooperation with a company. Meanwhile, the factors which influence lamp filament resistance were analysis; it proposes a simple an efficient method used for automatic detection among different types of lamps. As a result, various lamps could be distinguished by different preheated filament resistance based on constant current preheat electronic ballast.Chapter VI analysis several dimming methods for electronic ballasts of fluorescent lamp, and focus on the disadvantage of depth dimming in frequency modulation method, which difficult to achieve wide-range dimming technology. At last, it presented a novel frequency dimming technology to achieve depth dimming using minimum current limited method.
