Now the world’s energy demand is growing, various countries have launched their own energy saving initiatives. Electricity for lighting account for a large proportion of the electricity consumption of the world, in China the proportion reach12%. Therefore, if each lighting lamp can save a little energy, the total electricity savings would be a tremendous value. Today, the LED lamps, have not been extended, and the incandescent lamps waste energe, the most lamp for lighting are still the fluorescent lamps in China. The high-frequency electronic ballast chip is just the fluorescent lamp driver circuit in this paper.One of the important applications for power IC is the Electronic Ballast for the fluorescent lamp, which fully show the good combination of the control ICs and the power devices on the same chip. Because this kind of chip is different from the ordinary integrated circuits in the process and the design technology, the in-depth study and discussion about the circuit design and the device structural features is of great significance for the relatively backward integrated circuit technology of China.The electronic ballast chip together with the peripheral circuits such as inductors, capacitors, resistors and other components constitute a system to drive the fluorescent lamp. Prior to designing chips,this paper study the principle of the system and the characteristics of the fluorescent lamp.The fluorescent lamp is the main energy-saving component in the complete lighting system. So, in order to make use of the energy-saving effect of the fluorescent lamp,the paper study the warm-up set of the electric ballast chip for fluorescent in the application, and get the important way of the parameter set. The paper chooses a reasonable circuit structure about the chip. When I design the the unit module circuits, I use the classic and sophisticated circuit structures as soon as possible, so the circuit can work more stably. Because of the deviation of the cube current from the rated value due to the error of the peripheral devices and the changing temperature in the ballast application, this design detect and control the fluorescent tubes current,in order to make the fluorescent tube current a approach the rated value as close as possible.This paper uses the lum650V process models of Germany XFAB, which is advanced SOI process. Simulating the various modules of the circuit and the overall circuit, its legitimacy has been verified.
