With the rapid growth of national economy and deepen reform of electric utility, power grid have been expanding and system complexity have been rising. More and more attention is paid to improvement of power quality and economic efficiency. Under the precondition of network security and stable operation, how to improve voltage quality and reduce losses, and how to realize automatic optimization control of reactive power and voltage has become an important topic and a research hotspot of reactive power and voltage management in electric utility. The main purpose of this study is construction and implementation of distributed two-stage reactive power and voltage control system in Jinhua electric power bureau with consideration of coordination control of Automatic Voltage Control (AVC) systems in province and county levels, and hence realization automatic optimal control of reactive power and voltage in Jinhua electric power network. The theory of AVC system is narrated, and the key technical and practical experience in construction and implementation are introduced. The thesis provides quite practical and objective reference for similar projects. The first chapter outlines the current status of reactive power and voltage control and its technical difficulties first, and then the research objectives and content of the thesis. The second chapter systematically describes the AVC system control mode, optimization model and algorithm. The third chapter focuses on the technology schema, system configuration and function, control strategy of distributed Jinhua AVC system. The fourth chapter explains the three-tier coordination controls strategy between province and area, area and county AVC systems.Chapter five gives the implementation benefits of the AVC system in single pilot stage, distributed control stage, and function extension stage.Chapter VI concludes the thesis and proposes the future development direction of AVC system..
