With the development of large antenna, cable-mesh structure attracts extensive interest and is widely employed. Pretension design, shape adjustment and dynamics of a large active cable-mesh reflector antenna are investigated in detail. The main research works are as follows:Firstly, aimed at pretension design problem of cable-mesh structure, three optimization models are developed which are deduced from the static equilibrium equations of the structure, in which strain of cable segments of the cable-mesh are selected as the design variables. From the result, the strain of cable segments become even. An illustrative example is presented to clarify the correctness and the effectiveness of the proposed method.Secondly, based on the theory of finite element method, utilizing stiffness matrix and displacement of cable-mesh, adjustment force is calculated, in order to shift the cable-mesh reflector to a desired paraboloid of revolution from a spherical shape. The simulation results show that this method has a good precision and effectiveness. Finally, dynamics characteristic of the cable-mesh antenna is analyzed. Frequency characteristic of the cable-mesh antenna is discussed. Mode contribute coefficient of the cable-mesh is discussed in detail. As for the transient analysis of antenna, dynamics response of cable-mesh antenna under static load is analyzed.
