Research On The Patterns And Methods For Renewal And Transformation Of The Old Residential Surroundings

For a long time, because of the history and culture reason, many people consider:"new buildings is better than old ones". So, they destroy old residence without mercy. Because of lacking modern system theories which guide the exploitation of old residence, many good ideal became disaster of them. In our country, since 1980's, buildings renew and city development is in the stage that speed accelerate rapidly. Idea of sustainable development has gradually accepted by the people, to improve the old residents to be used reasonable during their effective life period has been paid increasing attention.That conversion and reuse of old residence valued is different from"destroy and rebuild", can make full use of the current land and architecture resources. It can save the cost of new investment and dismantling the old house, shorten the construction period and reduce the removal of a large number of old residential municipal solid waste generated. In addition, it can reserve the architecture cultural continue, it also can find the old residential value in nowadays. It is still help to create special building in special features place and city environment. Meanwhile, residents also can enhance public participation in consciousness, in line with contemporary living space.In the view of the residence buildings in Shanxi Province, although the old house were more concentrated in urban centers since reform and opening-up, which had high land values, they were experienced the material aging and social decline. Most of them could not meet urban development and modern material and spiritual demands of residents, many residents there have much complaint. These residential structures largely intact, has been long in use and the remaining technical life, through the appropriate transformation can make its economic life of continuity; the other hand, due to prevailing economic conditions, technical level and design constraints, some of the old house have low construction standards or quality. Combined with the lack of the necessary maintenance measures, serious local damage in some buildings in urgent need of transformation of functions and facilities through to perfect update.In this paper, with analyzing the related theories and practice of domestic and international old residential surroundings, base on the research of the status of multi-layer brick from 1970's to 1990's in Shanxi Province, this thesis setup a frame research system of conversion and reborn of old buildings. Finally, author pointed out the concrete and workable models and methods of renovation in line with the actual of Shanxi Province, combined with large amounts of data and successful projects, and discussed the design practice of upgrading old residential surroundings of Shanxi. For the realization of "building a conservation-oriented society, the new building a harmonious living Shanxi" laid the foundation for the development strategy.The study is a branch of reuse of existing building systems, it has great sense in theories and practice. Author hopes that this thesis could do a little help to the related research.
