With the development of human society, the requirements of the living conditions become higher. Aloughth, technology can provide more and more comfortable environment, it also consumes more and more energy. China has lots of buildings, and the most of them are high-energy buildings. Building energy consumption has accounted for 30% of social total energy consumption. Therefore,it is necessary to develop a novle building energy-saving technology to satisfy both the comfort requirement of the users and the need to save energy. To solve these problems, this thesis provides a new method, which is based on the embedded agent system.The main contributions of this thesis include the following issues:Firstly, a kind of Multi-Agent System (MAS) for buildings is given. The Multi-Agent System is composed of four kinds of agents:Management Agent (MA), Room Agent (RA), Environment Agent (EA), Personal Agent (PA). The four types of Agents can accomplish the task through cooperation and communication using the wireless networks and Ethernet technology.Secondly, the functional requirements of embedded agents are analyzed, and, in the aspects of both the hardware and software design, the embedded Room Agent, the embedded Environment Agent and the embedded Personal Agent are designed. In the aspect of the hardware design, the wireless network module, the Ethernet module, the sensor module and the actuator modules, etc, are designed. In the aspect of the software, the communication method, which is the combination of the wireless network and the Ethernet, is realized. According to application characteristics of Multi-Agent system used in intelligent building, self-developed wireless network protocol and Ethernet protocol is adopted. And, according to different functions of the embedded Agents, the application-layer is designed differently.Finally, applications of the embedded Agents in intelligent building are studied. The coordination, cooperation and management in the embedded agents are explored. And, two examples are given to demonstrate how to utilize the Multi-Agent system to provide comfortable and energy-saving building environments. Also, a real platform of the Multi-Agent system is built, in the information building of Shandong Jianzhu University.Experiments show that the embeded agent system can run effectively and can meet the requirement.In conclusion, the embedded Agent system developed in this thesis has embedded, modular, intelligent, network, convenient installation characteristics.
