Switched reluctance motor (SRM) is used widely in industrial fields because of its simple structure, robust and reliable drive system, etc. This paper made a systematic comprehensive analysis and research at hot and difficult problems of switched reluctance motor body and control system simulation model in recent years.Due to its doubly salient structure, the magnetic circuit of SRM is nonlinear and high saturation existed in local area, the electromagnetic relations of SRM are very complex. Firstly, ANSYS is used to analyze magnetic field distribution of SRM at different rotor position and current. Nonlinear inductance model of SRM has been established based on SRM magnetization curves. The control system model is built by SIMULINK, combined with SRM model, the whole model of switched reluctance motor drive system (SRD) is established and starting characteristics and steady state performance of SRM are analyzed by this model.Secondly, programming method is used to build model of motor body. ANSYS is called synchronously by MATLAB using MATLAB Function module to calculate the magnetic field and currents in stator windings. Electromagnetic field accurate analysis of SRM and real-time control of control system are implemented by programming combined with SIMULINK control module. The results calculated by the two methods are compared and analyzed.Torque ripple and phase current variations of SRM are analyzed at different turn on and off angle. Off-phase in running state of SRM is simulated in this paper and the impact of off-phase to motor at starting and the steady state operation are analyzed. The impact on current and torque caused by load change has been analyzed in this paper.
