Continuous welded rail (CWR) has a high longitudinal force, which is the basic difference of common rail. Besides, it is constrained and can't move freely. When the temperature rises, the temperature force inside the rail could lead to railway structure's buckling as well as vehicle's derailment, that is losing stability, which do harm to the safety operation. The buckling of CWR always happen. It's an advanced subject to study the stability of CWR. This article analyzes the process and influencing factor of the bucking ,introduces the computational formulas. Based on the above basic theory , according to continuous elastic foundation beam and method of finite element numerical simulation, this paper establishes three-dimensional finite element model of analyzing stability of CWR . By using the model, which includes rails, rail fastenings, ties and ballast resistance, the lateral deformation of CWR is analyzed, the relations of temperature and lateral deformation is quantitatively analyzed, the change regularity and characteristic are searched. Besides, studying vibration characteristics subjected to temperature stress, the vibration frequency and its distribution law can be drawn by modal and harmonic responses. It provides a basic to judge and predict the stability. The results revealed that the temperature force is the basic reason of buckling, the ballast crosswise resistance is the important factor. The bigger the resistance is, the better the stability is. The longitudinal resistance mostly affects the distribution of temperature stress. Besides, when rail fastenings are failure, the stability will decrease seriously. When the temperature rises, the frequency decreases. The bigger the ballast resistance is, the bigger the frequency is, the bigger the amplitude under the same force, the better the stability. The failure rail fastenings have a big influence on frequency and reduce stability. The stiffness of ties has influence on frequency and amplitude under the force. The study and exploration of bucking and influence factors of CWR stability would make valuable contributions to actual railway track' design and maintenance.
