It is a prevalent phenomenon in china that the road is covered with snow-ice due to low temperature in winter.Especially in the north and northwest cold area,due to the reason that the snow-ice can't be cleared away in time,the compacted snow-ice which has high density and strength is formed because of repeated thawing and rolling by vehicles and pedestrians.In the south,sometimes the freezing rain and sleet weather also appear in winter,and the bad weather will bring about icing phenomenon on the road.Traffic accidents will be easily caused by snow-ice on the road,such as traffic interruption,railway interruption,airport closures and so on. Our daily life and industrial-agriculture production are influenced.The great lose appears in country economic.With the development of sociality,economy,culture and other aspects,the urban road has become longer and wider,and the number of highway mileages and airports are on the increase,removing snow-ice quickly in time has become the key question which can ensure smooth traffic in winter.The traditional method of removing snow-ice consumes lots of manpower and material resources,and it has low efficiency and security in the process of operation.Because of a series of negative influence on environment,the chemical method of removing snow-ice has a limited application.Due to huge energy consumption,the thermal method of removing snow-ice is generally used to conserve key sections of road. With advantages of flexibility,small contamination,high efficiency and so on,it is suitable for the mechanical method to be developed rapidly in china.At present,snow removal technology and products need to be developed and improved vigorously in order to make full use of these removal machinery.A typical example is a fight against snow-ice disaster in January 2008,lots of unprofessional equipments,such as jet cars,tanks and armored vehicles were used to remove snow-ice.The contents discussed above indicate that professional removal equipments have lower utilization in practice,so according to china's geographical environment and climate characteristics,high-tech,low environmental pollution removal equipments need to be developed and widely used so as to remove snow-ice effectively for the purpose of keeping vehicles,aircraft and pedestrian in safety and road in conservation.Based on the cooperated project "Research on Multifunction Snow Remover" which is being carried out by Jilin University and Shenyang Shanhe Engineering Machinery Factory,the study on snow remover is in progress for the purpose of removing snow-ice on the road.The main contents and summary of the paper are as follows.1 Tests of ice-breaking force of tools and finite element analysisThe tests of crumbling ice is implemented so as to obtain the static ice-breaking force,vibration frequency,vibration amplitude and vibrating ice-breaking force.through the tests,a method with changed frequency is educed and supposed to crumble ice based on the thickness of ice;the finite element method is also utilized to analyze stress and strain of the tools in the process of crumbling ice,the conclusion that two sides of tools'tips bear the largest stress and deformation is acquired through the analysis.2 Design of roller and auxiliary (damping and hydraulic) systemThe overall structure of roller is designed based on the datas obtained from experiments,and the main components of roller are calculated,selected and checked;by combining machine characteristics and experimental datas,the rubber is choosed as vibrating damper of vibration snow remover,at the same time,the size,profile and hardness of vibration damper is designed and calculated;the corresponding hydraulic system is also designed and calculated according to the walking and operating conditions of Snow Remover.3 Finite element analysis of roller's movement and ice-breaking of slanting cutter teethThe maximum speed of snow remover is determined under different frequencies according to the size of roller and frequency of snow remover;declining installation of tools of roller is also determined,and the case of bearing force of tools under two extreme conditions is calculated.Finally,the finite element method is used again to optimize the declining angle of tools,and the optimized angle is 55°,when the tools maintain this installation angle,the best results of removing snow-ice is achieved, meanwhile,there is no deformation in the neutral layer of tools,the optimized results indicate that the tools bear strength evenly,and the installation angle of tools is determined as 55...
