Natural disasters including flood, snow damage and sandstorms and geological disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, mudslides occur frequently along the road in Western China, which have serious impacts on traffic safety of highway network and connectivity reliability. Actively carrying out research on highway network reliability analysis and evaluation is a premise which improves support ability of highway network to suffer emergency, is an important guarantee which grasps weak point and improve the quality and level of highway development in western region. Therefore, the thesis is to research connectivity reliability of highway network in western region and then focus on the following several aspects:First, based on summarizing the results of previous studies and combining characteristics analysis of the highway network, this paper defines the meaning of highway network reliability, analyzes the impact factors of highways network reliability, and establishes evaluation index system of highway network reliability.Second, based on graph theory and system reliability theory, this thesis establishes connectivity reliability model between nodes and the system reliability model, which overcome the limitations of traditional connectivity reliability model and more truly reflect the daily highway network traffic conditions. This thesis describes minimal path set algorithm and Monte Carlo algorithm to solve connectivity reliability, analyzing the applicability of two algorithms and their advantages and disadvantages, and fully demonstrates Monte Carlo simulation algorithm superiority in solving large and complex highway network connectivity reliability.Finally, take xinjiang highway network for example, this thesis makes case analysis of highway network connectivity reliability theory, based on data analysis of xinjiang, minimal path set algorithm and Monte Carlo algorithm is applied to solve connectivity reliability between nodes andcompare two results, and then optimize highway network of Xinjiang, analyzes and compares connectivity reliability before and after optimization of the highway network based on the Monte Carlo algorithm, which verify theory and method reasonable and feasible.
