As the world energy crisis continues to deepen and the grave situation of environmental problems, many countries around the world make the new energy vehicles as the mainstream of development in the future direction of automotive industry. Because of the key technology of pure electric vehicles-the battery is not perfect, therefore, the development of hybrid vehicles is the general trend of the coming decades. China's Ministry of Science makes the hybrid electric vehicles as one of the main research techniques of electric vehicle research technologies science national "Tenth-Five" 863 major projects.Hybrid electric vehicle achieve low fuel consumption, low noise and low emission features, mainly used for urban public transport, this paper mainly carried out a research about vehicle controller according to someone hybrid city bus as the research object.Firstly, the status analysis of the foreign hybrid electric vehicle, which raised a few mature of foreign hybrid vehicle models, and compare them; and analysis of China's development of hybrid technology, and described the needing of carrying out depth study on hybrid electric vehicle.Secondly hybrid electric vehicle power train system is studied, proposed three power train structure of the program that widely used in hybrid electric vehicle, and its working principle described, and ultimately results reveal the structure of programs used in the power train. While carrying out the depth study on the several typical power train structure, and differences in the structure of domestic and power train were compared.Then the hybrid electric vehicle power train parts (engine, motor, battery and transmission) selection were analyzed, and making the model in the MATLAB/ Simulink for the system, thus laying a power train controller design model base.Followed the principles and embedded systems development methodologies were described, design a program of hybrid electric vehicle controller, and in accordance with the design requirements of vehicle control design the vehicle controller hardware in Protel DXP, which including the minimum system of the controller, the signal processing circuit, watchdog circuits and CAN network communication circuit design. Finally, the vehicle controller software part was designed, including the driver layer and control layer design strategy, and in which the proposed vehicle control software program control flow and program design of each drive module, and finally to the vehicle control strategy research.
