When the rubber tired crane works, the falling hook structure, which controls the rate of descend of the goods by the ribbon brake and the gravity of the goods, is used in order to speed the loading and uploading. As the goods have major inertia, the acceleration produced by the falling hook braking procedure will be likely to harm the metal structure and the overall stability. There are cases about complete machine overthrow under feel hook braking procedure in the manufacturing process.The influence of the falling hook is fully considered. This paper will analyze theoretically and deduce the response of all the stages during the falling hook procedure. The research results can make some beneficial explore to the dynamic property of the rubber tired crane.The paper consists of the following parts:(1) apply the finite elements analysis software ANSYS to establish a model of the metal structure of the selected rubber tired crane and make the statics analysis of the model.(2) Analyze the falling hook procedure of the rubber tired crane completely. Divide the falling hook procedure into two parts and simplify the real system structure with the less degree of freedom model method. Select appropriate control condition under fully consideration of the intensity,stiffness and stability of the metal structure and deduce the response results of displacement and the velocity of the arm support and the goods with living examples.(3) Analyze influence of the falling hook procedure on the wirerope tension. Research the influence of the variable amplitude and arm length on the dynamic property of the falling hook procedure. Deduce the rule of the wirerope tension by the cases with the arm length 18m and with the elevation of the arm support 50°(4) Analyze the influence of the falling hook procedure on the complete machine stability. Find out the influence of the falling hook on the anti-overturning stability of the crane through the analysis of falling hook procedure with the selected arm length and amplitude. Aiming at the characters of the rubber tired crane, the effect of the variable arm length and amplitude on the anti-overturning stability is analyzed, which makes a suggestion to the control of the falling hook procedure.
