Automotive leaf spring is an important component of the suspension system. And its function and the role is to transfer the all force and torque between the wheel and frame, decreasing the impact load from road surface, attenuating the vibration which caused by the impact load, assuring the regular running of the vehicle. In addition, leaf spring has a simple structure and low manufacturing cost, and it's easy to maintain and as a guide mechanism of the suspension. Therefore, at present leaf spring is used more and more in the car. Based on the existing the automotive designers should consider one of the content that is to reduce the quality of leaf spring, and improve the stress and stiffness of leaf spring. In this context, the content of this paper is proposed.The design parameters of each reeds model mainly include length, arc height, curvature,thickness of high and so on. The parametric establishment of three-dimensional solid reed model is to reduce the time the designers spend on establishing the model of the different parameters, and modify the model parameters. Parameterized model can effectively establish the three-dimensional leaf spring solid model for the same model and save time. By using VB language, and at the same time taking advantage of plug-in Automation Gateway for the secondary development, a multi-chip cross section and less tapered leaf spring in the free state of the three-dimensional parametric model are established.The suspension is one of the important component of a car, and the suspension performance of leaf spring influences the vehicle performance. How to meet the conditions of the leaf spring performance, reducing the quality of the leaf spring is particularly important. This paper describes how to optimize little leaf spring model by MATLAB. First the target function of less leaf spring section model is established. This function represents the quality of less leaf spring, after the volume ears, length, stiffness, strength etc are built by constraint conditions. At the same time taking advantage of MATLAB M-file by programming solves the unknown quantities. To meet the stiffness and strength under the premise that the designers should make the quality of the leaf spring minimum.For the assembly model of the establishment of the leaf spring into ANSYS, Simulating the assembly process of the leaf spring is to step up the process of the leaf spring, and exerting displacement constraint solves the solution of the nonlinear contact problem. This can get reeds installation arc high, contact stress, stress concentration and so on. At present it is necessary to obtain high stress and stiffness leaf spring. The designers need to verify stiffness of the leaf spring in the work load whether it is in the design scope. The stiffness of a multi-chip-chip cross section leaf spring is verified by the step of the load. The stiffness of the less variable cross-section leaf spring in the direct load is got by simulating and compared to the stiffness value of calculation. Those are positive significance which is further research on the fatigue of the leaf spring product.
