In the context of environmental pollution and energy crisis, the electric vehicle has a chance of rapid development. At this stage, due to the restrictions of technological development, the hybrid electric vehicle becomes the most sophisticated and viable type of electric car. Under the bus operating conditions, hybrid power systems have great prospects about improving fuel economy and emissions of passenger car.This article is about the design of 6600 bus for hybrid systems, including the studies of power system selection and matching, the key elements are following:(1) The analysis of the 6600 bus road environment in detail is to determine its operating conditions in urban and suburban, providing selection criteria for the 6600 design specifications of hybrid buses.(2) First, the article analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the arrangement of the type of hybrid system, finalized the hybrid type of bus power system; and selected the type of the main components of the power system, engine, motor, energy storage and transmission device.(3) According to the basic parameters of WH6600 prototype and the specifications of hybrid bus design, the article matched the parameters calculated of the engine, motor, energy storage and transmission device and got the basic parameters design of hybrid power system.(4) We built a simulation model of hybrid buses, and according to the results of the parameters match, defined the model parameters,then selected a city and suburban driving cycle simulation to run the simulation, finally evaluated the performance of hybrid buses under the simulation result of 6600.(6) Compared the technical parameters of the traditional prototype power buses and the hybrid electric buses, and analyzed the performance benefits of hybrid vehicles, at the final there was s a brief analysis of optimization about the matching results of power system.The article provided methods and approaches of 6 m type of hybrid bus design, that its operating conditions is different from the city bus, and got the feasible program design of the 6600 hybrid electric bus, this design has a good applicable prospect.
