In grouting operation, swirl jet cement slurry mixers are often in need to produce cement paste, performance of mixers directly affects preparation of cement paste, so it is very necessary to research and design on mixers. The key of designing a pulping mixer is to know clearly the flow of mixing fluid, but cement is opaque, which is not conducive to direct experiment and visual observation, besides, the mixture of cement and water in the mixer is a very complicated problem about two-phase flow, therefore, it is an important desirable way to carry out numerical simulation on fluid by use of the computer method. This paper was to carry on structural design of the cement slurry mixer, on the base of CFD analysis platform. The use of CFD method provided reliable evidence for mechanical structural design and greatly shortened the design cycle and reduced the research cost.In this paper, CFD pre-processing software—Gambit2.3 and computing software—Fluent6.3 were used as the research tool, the swirl jet cement slurry mixer was the research object, firstly several different feasible design schemes were raised, to which the relative operation was conducted, including model building, mesh generation, boundary condition and region setting, solution computation and so on, finally the results of numerical simulation were obtained, and then by comparison of main performance parameters and analysis of advantages and disadvantages of various schemes, the reasonable optimal design scheme was selected from them. When designing the structure, the influence on flow field of nozzles'installation and mixing tank's shape (such as change of diameter) was mainly considered. When comparing the simulation result, the different situation of velocity, turbulence intensity and certain single-phase'concentration was mainly analyzed.The paper is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the subject's research background was introduced, and in recent decades, at home and abroad, the research achievements about the research object were listed out. In the second chapter, several flow forms—eddy, jet and secondary flow, existing inside the mixer of the subject were introduced in brief, and about nozzles'installation and mixing tank's shape, several design schemes were proposed. In the third chapter, the CFD design method was introduced in and its related description and introduction were given. In the fourth chapter, taking the first scheme for example, the specific process of proceeding numerical simulation by use of CFD software was described in detail, and the desired image results were drawn, then similar operation was executed on the other schemes, by analysis and comparison, mainly of the distribution of velocity, turbulence intensity and cement's volume fraction, the most beneficial scheme to mixing effect was selected. In the sixth chapter, the full text was summarized, and the research circumstances of the topic in future were discussed.
