| Mechanism for planar scaling is defined as the mechanism that can enlarge or shrink a planar graph by driving a revolute pair. This kind of mechanism is applied wildly in various field.This raises much interest in the study and application of the mechanism and its further development is envisaged.At first, in this paper, though the design theory of this mechanism is introduced and the conformation method is reviewed. The simulation software that can design and simulate the motion automatically is proposed. Based on the design theory and the simulation software, the process of how to design this mechanism for a monogram graph is elaborated. A graph must be analyzed to judge whether it needs the qualification. If a graph does not meet this qualification, the method that can amend the graph is proposed. This mechanism is layered and the design method of the layers is introduced.Secondly, based on the design theory, the motion simulation software for this mechanism is made which can design the straight and triangle scaling mechanism automatically. The straight bar scaling mechanism has two big parts. One is the graph-analyzed part which can judge the rationality of the graph before starting the design, the other part is the motion simulation part which can design the mechanism and simulation its motion. At the same time, the design result presents the different layers by different colors. For some complicated graphs, these functions make the process more efficient and make the design result more dependable and also shorten the producing cycle. These two parts are elaborated in detail and their corresponding arithmetic is introduced.Finally, the necessary condition is researched when the straight bar and triangular scissor-type units compose the mechanism for planar scaling. |
