Planar shape-changing rigid-body mechanisms have certain adaptive function, and can change their shape through the movement to enhance the implementation capacity and extend the scope of application, in line with today's mechanical systems to high-precision, multi-purpose development trend. Shape-changing rigid-body mechanism, which consists of several rigid segments, rigid rods and rotating hinge composition, can pass the rods guide each just segment movement to approximate several curve, these curves defines institutions deformation process.Firstly, in this paper, based on demand, morphing curve is analyzed and two algorithms are proposed. These "morphing curves", referred to as design profiles, which in essence are to design planar shape-changing rigid-body mechanisms must pass reservation track. Design profiles which are usually spline curve are converted to piecewise linear curves, referred to as target profiles, those can be readily manipulated. Each target profile is still a complete curve, and by it directly as a component apparently can't meet the design accuracy requirement, and must be divided into a number of sections. The corresponding segments of all target profile calculate the average, referred to as mean profile, which will serve as a component into mechanism synthesis stage.Secondly, the component shape of shape-changing rigid-body mechanisms depend on design profiles。After handling design profiles, this paper presents a synthesize more pole series mechanisms methods, including rigid connection and add rotation vice。At last, based on the above design principle, this paper give some specific design instance of planar shape-changing rigid-body mechanisms to verifies the design principle of the correctness, and use Three-dimensional software to model the design examples and give them movement simulation. This paper also gives proper performance analysis of the designed mechanism.
