Recreation space of a city, regarded as subsystem among the complex city system, appears to be influenced by the interaction of macroscopic and microscopic forces. This paper select the tea-house system in Chengdu as the object for this research, and try to apply the fractal theory to the research about recreation space of a city, in order to quantitily describe the recreation space system in a city and clearly, reasonably depict the complex characteristics of the recreation space of a city in term of its spatial structure.Combining the theory about the spatial structure in the tourism field and the fractal theory to make a analysis, this paper elaborate the feasibility about fractal research on the tea-house system in Chengdu, the dimension of the random aggregation and the dimension of the spatial correlation in the fractal theory are introduced to make the analysis and quantitatively measurement with the spatial agglomeration, space correlation of the tea-house system in Chengdu and its result is analyzed, generalized and calculated with the spatial structure theory in the tourism field. The result shows that the spatial distribution of the tea-house system enjoys the fractal characteristics and evident space scale effect. In the city-scale, the tea-house enjoy the centrifugal distribution, with the Tianfu square (which is the center of the spatial distribution in the city and the administrative center) being as the center point, random aggregation of the spatical structure is relatively weak. The spatial distribution of the tea-house appears to be the evident fractal structure, and it is relatively homogeneous in a small scale, but highly concentrated in a large scale.Within the 0.5 km away from attracts, the spatial structure of each tea-house subsystem appears to distribute along the axis; With the tourism land mark being as the center point, the spatial structure tend to be the centrifugal distribution, and its aggregation is relatively weak, which demonstrates that most tourism land mark have little adsorptive action to the tea-house. With the ten famous tea-houses being as the center point, the spatial structure of the tea-house subsystem appears to be the -- and its random aggregation is relatively strong, what can be concluded from which is that the famous tea-house own the strong adsorptive force. Within the 1km away from the attracts, the spatial structure of the each tea-house subsystem appears to be the fractal structure when the five famous tea-house are regarded as the center point, the increasing of the density of the spatial aggregation is getting faster; The spatial structure of the tea-house if more homogeneous with the scale of 1km than that with the scale of the 0.5 km. with the ten famous tea-house being as the center point, the random aggregation of the spatial structure of the tea-house subsystem is relatively strong, which demonstrates the scale of 1km is the aggregation center when the famous tea-house subsystem conducts the self-evolution,and the spatial structure appears to be evident fractal structure. In the small scale, the spatial distribution of the tea-house is relatively homogeneous, while it tends to be concentrated in the large scale. This paper provided the new idea for the microscopic spatial structure research about the tea-house in Chengdu, and verified the objective existence of self-similar fractal characteristics of the tea-house system, demonstrated that the fractal theory could indicate microscopic spatial structure of the recreation space in city in different scales. In addition, it can also provide the empirical referents for exploring the fractal characteristics of the point feature in different scales and new sample and reference method for the recreation theory, being a meaningful practice for the management in the tea culture field in Chengdu.
