In this paper, based on direct detection type radiometer it adopts a passive millimeter-wave theory to research the Moving Object Recognition Technology for battlefield military requirements of high-speed motion detection. It achieves signal acquisition, real-time processing and serial port communications function with PC. It has important military application for low-flying targets, ground moving target reconnaissance, surveillance and attack.First, for the millimeter wave detection principle, the radiometer structure, function and design issues were discussed. The direct detection type radiometer front-end devices were tested and analyzed. It builds a passive millimeter wave detection system. based on the theory of target identification it researched some simple methods of millimeter wave target identification and determined the objectives recognition algorithm of this topic by comparing the methods on the existing conditions.On the millimeter wave signal processing system, to the TMS320 series DSP chip of TI company as the core it focused on the study hardware design of the millimeter wave detection signal processing, Including signal acquisition circuit, simulation debug circuitry, serial communications circuit and so on. The project also studied the algorithms realization of software on the A/ D sampling, target recognition algorithms, etc. By debugging hardware and software of the system on experiment, the system runs well.Finally, the subjects do a lot of simulation test in the outdoor environment. It even tested the joint detection with acoustic detection under laboratory conditions. The actual test was done on system of design. The results show that the passive millimeter wave detection can identify target, acoustic detection can effectively targets the target location information. It proved that target recognition system design on direct detection radiometer is more reasonable.
