The Study Of Safety Strategies For Freeway Tunnel Based On Driving Psychology

Tunnel sections are the bottleneck road of freeway, often also become the black-spot sections. Tunnel traffic accidents are closely related to driving psychology due to the particularity of the tunnel traffic environment, therefore the analysis on the driving psychology changing process of tunnel sections and the influence of tunnel environment on driving psychology becomes a key point to ensure the freeway traffic safety. Taking the influence of tunnel environment on driving psychology as the main content, this paper analysis the influence of tunnel environment characteristics, road characteristics and traffic characteristics on the driving psychology, and puts forward the safety strategies based on the analysis, which is a good security advice for freeway designers, traffic managers and traffic participants.Starting with the analysis of freeway tunnel operation characteristics and tunnel traffic accident characteristics, taking a study on the tunnel accident cause, which lays the foundation of tunnel environmental analysis and accidents theoretical study; and then starting from traffic psychology research, taking a study on the driving psychology and the relationship of traffic engineering and driving psychology, which lays the foundation of driving psychological research.According to the actual investigation and observation data, combining with the theoretical analysis, establishing heart rate changing diagram of curves and the relationship diagram of curves between heart rate alteration and speed alteration, obtaining the change regularity of driving psychological in tunnel sections; in view of the change regularity of driving psychological, carefully analysing the concrete relationship between tunnel environment characteristics, road characteristics and traffic characteristics with driving psychology.Finally, according to the effects of tunnel operation environment on driving psychology, this paper puts forward the tunnel traffic's subjective and objective safety strategies. The subjective strategies take driving psychological characteristics into account from three aspects of being strict with driver professional requirements, strengthening driver psychological quality training and regulating driver professional ethics; and the objective strategies take the tunnel environmental control, road alignment improvement and the install of traffic safety facilities into consideration according to the traffic design, traffic management factors which have influence on driving psychology.
