Intelligent home network is developing rapidly due to the great achievements in computer science, embedded system and communication technology. Smart home is going closer and closer to people's eyeshot, and we have also started pursuing safer, more comfortable, and more intelligent daily life. As a result, how to develop an efficient, low-cost smart home is a hot researching topic in the world.After years of development, the functions of smart home system are more and more perfect. The paper has started at the hardware design of embedded systems, studied deeply the embedded home control systems and communications hardware and designed the smart home system based on EIB considering the construction of the embedded system platform as the basis, the development of an intelligent home system and functional requirements as the target.This article firstly introduces the following aspects: 1) the present situation and development of smart home, the system functions and system configuration of smart home system .2) the progress and topological structure of EIB technology, and the composition of smart home system based on EIB.3) the current situation and features of embedded Liunx.This paper has emphasized on completing the design and implementation on the following aspects 1) Bus coupler BCU; 2) the building of the embedded hardware platforms; 3) the implementation of the Software is programming based on having access to test and debugging of hardware, it has implemented the transplantation of the u-boot that the boot loader of the embedded intelligence Home System and the embedded Linux2.6 kernel and the structure of the root file system; 4) as to the design of the application program, it has achieved access control between the handheld devices and the various smart devices based on QT programming. At last, this paper also makes a summary of the system and puts forward on the current insufficiency and the further application and development.
