The marine electric power system is an independent electric power system, one of the indispensable core systems of modern ships. With the development of largescale ships, the marine power system is more and more complicated, and control and management system requirements are also more and more high, therefore, the effect and stability of control in marine power system will become more and more important. In order to improve the quality of power supply and ensure the stability of power system, this paper use MATLAB/Simulink software built a simulation model of marine power system which based on the classical PID control, focusing on the speed governor of prime mover and excitation of generator controlled modeling. This simultation model contributes to the foundation of the experimental platform of marine power system.This thesis firstly introduces the composition of marine power system, focusing on the speed governing system and excitation system controlled modeling. Combining the real ship, power system of this paper chooses electronic governor and controllable compound excitation brushless excitation system. According to the structure and working principle of electronic governor and controllable compound excitation brushless excitation system, summarized the mathemtical model of prime mover, speed regulation system, synchronous generator and excitation system. And simplified the mathemtical model to facilitate the analysis and built the simultation model.Then, according to the mathemtical model and the basic principle of marine power system, using MATLAB/Simulink software were built the simultation model of prime mover, speed regulation system, synchronous generator and excitation system, matched with a necessary simplified load model, to integrate the complete power system, so as to contribute to the foundation for simulation experiment.Finally, the simulation experiment of typical working conditions and typical fault is made in the simultation model. The experiment results show that the model accurately reflects the various conditions of real ship, adoption of control strategy is appropriate, achieved better control of the marine power system, and maintain the stable operation of marine power grid.Established simultation model of marine power system in this paper can be used in place of real ship to do various simulation experiment of control strategy, and to estimate the design of ship. The model also can simulate various working conditions and failure to test the safety performance of ship in the manufacturing stage. So the simultation model has wide application future and spreding value.
