The rapid development and powerful vitality of container transportation has contributed to a transportation revolution, which puts forward new higher requirements to loading and unloading equipment in port. The new ideas of changing the structure of the crane in order to improve the work efficiency and loading containers have emerged. Among them, the design about the counterweight system of which the kind of the arm frame crane has an important effect on production. The innovation research of the counterweight system could reduce the lower luffing mechanism driving power while weight reduction. And make up the drawback of the counterweight system in the past, to improve the performance of the crane.This thesis analysis the working principle of several new kinds of counterweight system of the arm frame crane and select a suitable type to create its mathematical model, analysis its working features by the toolbox of Genetic Algorithm of MATLAB. Through comparing self-respect unbalance force characteristics parameters, we can kown the superiority of counterweight system of which the type is shake-frame balance beam. And then develop a set of software about the counterweight system of the portal crane to guide the actual engineering design.The specific work of this thesis and its research results as below:(1) Collects the domestic and foreign counterweight system type and make sure the design method and principle of the counterweight system of the gantry crane. Clarify The superiority of counterweight system and its inflection to the luffing mechanism and the whole crane, to lay the foundation to the research of the counterweight system.(2) Refer to quayside container crane arm bridge connecting to heavy type live counterweight system, introduced the slide motion vice, puts forward five new kind of counterweight system, and then througth analysis and comparison, we can know the superiority of the balance-beam-connecting rod slide counterweight system and the shake-frame balance beam slide counterweight system.(3) To the two counterweight system, established the mathematical model which can correctly describe the influence of the Self-respect balance characteristics affected by the System's main design parameters.(4) Analysis the applicability of the counterweight system method of optimization design, then compares the research and discussion with the task force, genetic algorithm will be chosen as the optimization method in this paper. (5) Using the genetic algorithm toolbox of the MATLAB, complete the design of two types of new optimization of weigh balance system, then conclude the applicability of the cradle weight balance beam balance system chute.(6) Based on the VC++, develop computer-aided software system about the slide cradle balance beam of weight balancing system.
