In recent years, the self-anchored suspension bridge by virtue of its capacity to span, beautiful appearance and strong adaptability are increasingly favored by engineers in China. Because of the characteristics of the structure stress and construction process, most of the self-anchored suspension bridge implemented in different counterweights in the anchorage section of stiffening girder and the stiffening girder located within tower.In this paper, the Yellow River peach blossom valley Bridge as the project background, combined with the specific implementation of the Yellow River peach blossom valley Bridge counterweight, with the finite element software MIDAS CIVIL on the main tower counterweight optimization of stiffening girder(counterweight to cancel) before and after, discussed the issues about the reasonable bridge state and system transformation of Yellow River peach blossom valley Bridge, The main work is as follows:(1) Research to determine the main principles of stiffening girder counterweight to cancel. The beam at the bottom bearing force is consistent after the cancellation of the counterweight located in main tower. Stress of boom and boom anchorage on the stiffening girder is secure. The stiffening beam alignment and stress to meet design requirements.(2) Research to determine the reasonable finished dead State of Yellow River peach blossom valley Bridge after the abolition of the counterweight. The release of the main tower of cable force near several of the suspender, part weight to the tower of stiffening girder instead of the original weight, and then determine the reasonable finished state to cancel the weight after the Yellow River peach blossom valley Bridge, and gives the state of bridge under zero stress length of main cable, cable should be no bridge force the length and the suspender cable force.(3) Research to determine reasonable programs of system conversion after abolition of the counterweight.
