At present,China is developing rail transportation. In the long run, developed railway transport capacity have important significance to economic development. In the current situation , increasing the investment efforts of railway construction will play a positive role for stimulating economic development and related industry chain growthing.However, domestic processing equipments of railway frog mostly dependent on large-scale Gantry milling machine, which processing efficiency is not high. Entrusted by the enterprise, lanzhou university of technology study and design a set of special-purpose numerically-controlled machine tool for the frog processing, trying to implement low cost, high efficiency frog production. This topic is completed jointly by the group people, my work is mainly completed the design and research of mechanical system.According to the requirements of the company and the characteristics of frog itself, we designs two kinds of plan for milling machine: Firstly, frog milling machine with processing center type; Secondly, frog milling machine with combined power head . And analyzing the two schemes , selecting scheme of frog milling head with combined power head, this paper detailedly narratives frog milling machine with combined power head.(1) CNC dividing turntable offrog milling head with combined power head has the functions of indexing, orientation, and rotary ,which is one of the key devices to realize frog processing automatically(2) Several important devices of the frog milling machine with power unit: NC graduation rotation workbench,automatic alignment device of the frog, robot handling devices of the frog, automatic swing angle base of the frog, NC translocation fixture of the frog. The structure and working process of these devices are described in this paper.(3) Successively, torque and drilling forces are calculated and the affection of them is compared in this paper, and hence the maximum outside force and the torque loaded on the hub during the manufacturing are gained. Based on all of these data, the accuracy of fixture is analyses, and the fixture and its relevant structure is researched and designed, which guarantees the stabilization and high-efficiency of the fabrication of the hub.(4) The basic parts of the rotation workbench are analyses with finite-element, due to lack of relevant information of large scale fixture, Finite-element analysis is adopted to the rotation workbench. Considering the rotation workbench is big and the force received is complex, ANSYS is used to imitate the newel and carry out the related calculations to make sure the fabrication precision and work stability of the fixture under stress.Hope the design will contribute some to our nation's modern frog industry, including both equipment manufacture's localization and Large-scale production. Some aspects relevant are found still need to be researched further during the search mentioned in this paper.
