At present, SBS is used as the most common bitumen modification agent in the world, the polymer which is composed by Butadiene and styrene, when temperature below the glass transition temperature of the polystyrene composition, it is the high elastic material, but in a higher temperature, it becomes the fluid state of linear polymers nearly. SBS, which has both the elastic properties of rubber and thermoplastic qualitative of resin, it has the good elasticity, high tensile strength, the perfect deformation performance in low temperature, etc. When the SBS is dispersed in the asphalt evenly, high temperature ability of anti-rutting and anti-deformation is improved, at the same time, asphalt brittle points is lower, asphalt having certain flexibility so that can reduce road surface crack at low temperatures. In addition, SBS not only can improve bond properties but also enhance the flexibility, strength of asphalt. Because of SBS, deformation-recovery is in good condition, the using life of pavement will be extended.Through the test research of modified asphalt mixture with different conventional experiments, such as high temperature stability test, anti-cracking performance test, stable performance in the water, anti-aging property test and so on, this paper analyzes that the key technology parameters of SBS modified asphalt mixture have influence on the technical performance, and puts forward the improving technical measures and methods of SBS modified asphalt mixture.The purpose of this text lies in studying the key technical parameters of SBS modified asphalt. On this basis, Technical measures of controlling the quality of SBS modified asphalt is provided, and SBS asphalt mixture is able to achieve the best technical nature, thus diseases of modified asphalt pavements are eliminated and service life of pavement is extended.
