The main technology of incineration is grate-type incineration and fluidized bed-type incineration. In this paper, according to the incineration residues of two incineration method production for the subject, study and analysis of incineration residues for physics, chemistry, engineering properties and mechanical properties, and according to finite element numerical simulation method. To explore the possibilities which incineration bottom residues as roadbed engineering materials and foundation treatment for exchange-filling materials. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:1. Take two different kinds of incineration bottom residues and incineration fly ashes respectively. By indoor experiment the paper analyzed the physical properties and chemical composition characteristics of incineration residues, also analyzed the engineering application and environmental impact of two incineration residues. The experiment results showed that: (1) The heavy metals are not detected from two typical incineration bottom residues, which have not adverse impact on the environment. The heavy metals are detected from incineration fly ashes, which are dangerous. (2) The two typical incineration bottom residues are lighter materials, according to the classification of soil, incineration bottom residues can be classified as sandy soil.2. By indoor experiment, the incineration bottom residues are analyzed in the engineering properties and proposed the recommendation mechanical parameters values. The experiment results showed that: (1) Two kinds of incineration bottom residues have good compaction properties. (2) The cohesive strength and angle of friction are closed in consolidated quick direct shear test for two kinds incineration bottom residues,and larger than quick direct shear test. (3) The two kinds of incineration bottom residues are equivalent to the medium low compression of soil, and belong to medium-permeability soil. (4) From consolidated undrained triaxial compression test, the grate-type incineration bottom residues showed more dense sand and medium dense sand properties, the fluidized bed-type incineration bottom residues showed more dense sand properties. Two kinds of incineration bottom residues in the stress-strain relations and the Duncan-Chang's hyperbolic model has some similarity.3. Through the finite element numerical simulation, the incineration bottom residues as roadbed fill materials and foundation exchange-filling materials are to be explored. The simulation results show that: the two kinds of incineration bottom residues as good materials can be exchanged soft soil of foundation treatment and as roadbed construction materials.
