Along with the thorough of research as well as the swift development of the traffic infrastructure construction of our country, semi-rigid asphalt pavement can not already satisfy the situation, especially semi-rigid material strain cracking can not get effective treatment. Asphalt treated base (for short ATB),different from semi-rigid base which is often used in our country,belongs to the category of flexible base. CoMPare with semi-rigid asphalt base, asphalt treated base material shows superior performance in moisture susceptibility rapidness in construction, low repair cost and long life, too. ATB has great shearing strength and good capability of fatigue resistance,and can control and reduce reflecting crack. Using ATB is economical and can bring fine Pavement performances.First, based on consulting a large number of domestic and foreign documents concerning this subject, the paper proposes theory of strength and pavement performances requirement of ATB. In this paper , type and grade—rage of asphalt-treated permeable base in Hunan Province Expressway is analyzed.Three index design procedure, material compose—design procedures of ATB-25, is provided simply and easily and verified by constructing a testing road. The result of it has been checked by big Marshall method. Second, this paper based on often opens the highway pavement structure the characteristic, established two kind of pavement structure form to melt the model generally, uses the computation analysis program which Shell Oil Company Corporation developed to the ATB pavement structure and the contrastive analysis structure (semi-rigid base asphlt pavement structure) has carried on the more comprehensive stress strain analysis, has studied asphalt stable stone packing roads systematically and so on blend mechanical properties, high temperature stability, low temperature crack resistance and weary performance uses the performance, including semi-rigid subbase thickness, semi-rigid subbase module, factors and so on asphalt stable stone packing thickness to by asphalt stable macadam pavement structure various structures level most dollar stress and structure fatigue life the influence, has obtained some qualitative conclusions. Finally, the paper has conducted the system research to the highway ATB's construction technique, proposed the Hunan Province highway's ATB construction quality control target, has carried on the asphalt stable mixed macadam production mixture ratio design and the best oilstone through the test engineering compares the determination, as well as the blend road with the performance field inspection, set the construction control request and the quality assurance measure.
