In recent years, because the sharp increase in traffic volume, the continuous development of heavy traffic, the requirements of the pavement is getting higher and higher. After decades of practical experience, Asphalt Concrete Pavement has become recognized as a high degree of driving comfort, excellent road performance which has been widely used. However, the phenomenon of asphalt concrete pavement cracking, in particular, the region is located in the northern cold temperature cracking of asphalt concrete pavement problems is always an important topic which placed in front of researchers. Because of the temperature drop and large temperature difference, asphalt pavement caused crack under the effect of temperature and stress. Low temperature shrinkage cracking is very common in northern China. It is seriously endangering the life and quality of road, and is one of the major failure modes of Asphalt Pavement. Previously, the study on low-temperature cracking of asphalt pavement mainly focused on the introduction of SBS modified bitumen, and adding fiber in the asphalt concrete such as: steel fiber, asbestos fiber or by improving the grading of asphalt concrete and construction technology to improve the crack resistance of asphalt concrete pavement. In recent years, most of the new built Chinese road using SMA asphalt concrete pavement. As the performance indicators are better than lignin fiber, polyester fiber and polyacrylonitrile fibers are seldom used. Especially the two or more fiber mixed in SMA asphalt mixture, even a few people to try. This article is based on the theory of composite materials. In the SMA asphalt concrete attempt to join three types of fiber, including lignin fiber, to improve the low temperature cracking of asphalt concrete pavement performance.Organic fiber is a high anti-tensile strength elastic material. It's incorporation will allow the internal structure of asphalt concrete is more optimized. and it's anti-pull, anti-crack performance is improved. This paper adopted polyester fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers and lignin fibers to do orthogonal design. By splitting test and trabecular bending test on the study of asphalt mixture anti-cracking performance, investigate the applicability of composite fiber asphalt mixture in the northern cold region, tried to use the fiber to further improve the mixture of anti-crack ability, to reduce asphalt concrete pavement crack in cold weather conditions.
