Compared with combined diesel and gas turbine (CODAG), combined diesel and diesel (CODAD) can not only offer a greater output power, but also have good economical efficiency as the gas turbine have high oil consumption rate and requirement of the fuel quality. Besides, it can afford several run modes in order to fit for different operating modes.Twin-engine incorporation system is the key point of the CODAD plant. We need to solve several problems such as how to make the twin engine works, how to make the switching between single engine operating mode and twin engine operating mode, how to make the operating mode switching between the two engines by using the twin-engine system and how to get a good power distribution when the system working in each operating modes.Firstly, based on the CODAD power plant physical simulation experimental plant in our laboratory, we set up a simulation model for the primary equipment which includes the main engine, the synchronous-self-shifting clutch, the speed controller and the transmission by MATLAB and AMESim. Furthermore, simulation and experiment research is proceeded to find out the control tactics of the CODAD power plant. Besides, a rebuilding plan about the experimental plant has been bring forward according to the equipment model selection.In the next place, from the simple power-load control system, we analyzed the control strategy of the CODAD pushing system after making research on the control mode and the control algorithm. Then, the main controlling means of twin-engine incorporation are discussed.Again, simulation has been operated under several operating modes by virtue of the simulation model, which can provide reference frame for the study. Then, a control strategy about operating mode changing-over of the experiment system is bring forward according to the result of the simulation experiment.Finally, in the experimental stage, after analyzing the factors that can affect the load distribution of CODAD and preparation, the experimental data of the two main engines under operating modes , including diesel engine alone circulation mode, diesel engine combined circulation mode and combined diesel and diesel shift mode, have been obtained by the real time monitoring of the CODAD power plant with the observing and controlling system.The result of simulation indicates that the running reliability is high, the maneuverability of the twin-engine incorporation system is well, load is proportional. Besides, there is none exception while the system is running. In twin-engine incorporation test, it is very dangerous when the velocity contrast of the twin-engine is large as a diesel engine will be pulled by another one, however, it can be carried out easily by simulation. What discussed in this thesis is a key content of ship main engine push-system intelligence research, which will have great valuable significance for the study on the new CODAD power plant in our country.
