This paper researches the principle of performance management and 4D guidance of Flight Management System (FMS), then follows the dynamic optimization method of level route and the performance optimization model of the vertical flight profile, and develops a software program. The system simulation consisted of the dynamic optimization of level route and performance optimization trajectory of the vertical flight profile is realized. The simulation system can be served not only in the theoretical research on flight path planning and guidance, but also as flight profile management module to implement FMS simulation with the navigation module, autopilot, Control and Display Unit(CDU), and providing input interface for guidance system which calls for different flight control modes to guide aircraft. The main work of this thesis are as follows:Firstly, the dynamic optimizing problem of level route is modeled and analyzed, and problems such as dynamic programming (DP) and dynamic optimization without & with no-fly zone constraints are discussed. Dynamic programming method to optimize level route is used, and in particular, the algorithm process of dynamic optimization of level route with no-fly zone constraints is obtained. The optimization program of level route written in VC ++6.0 platform is developed, and the dynamic optimizing path for cruising phase is generated, combined with the dynamic simulation of a domestic flight route.Then, the performance optimization technique of the vertical flight profile on civil aircraft is analyzed theoretically, and some key problems such as mathematical model of aircraft, optimizing model and cost function are discussed. By using the Energy State Approximation method, the optimization method of cost function according to minimum direct operate cost is derived, and the corresponding calculation methods of optimization trajectory of vertical flight profiles for climb, cruise and descent phase are obtained. The optimal trajectory computing program written in VC and Matlab is developed, and the optimal flight trajectory for cruise phase is carried out with the performance date of a specific aircraft.
