Bag filter is a high-performance equipment to control the air pollution caused by industrial dust, and the connection joint is very important to transfer the force. Chinese steel structure designers have always said"strong column weak beam, joint stronger". Research on bearing performance and optimization for the joint occupy a very important position in the design for the main body of bag filter. For the urgent need in optimization design of the bag filter, finite element numerical analysis is introduced in the thesis. The initial stiffness of four kind joints with different component sizes is gained, and then the approximate formula is imitated by the least-square method utilizing MATLAB. Moment-rotation curves of all the joints under static force are protracted, and the effect for yield moment and limit moment on each size is analyzed. On this basis, the flange on strong axis of the corner joint is arc-shaped reduced, and the hysteretic curves are protracted. The energy-consuming performance and the ductility property of the joints are analyzed. How much the bearing capacity and seismic performance of different position and degree on the weakened flange effect is researched. These can provide useful reference and basis for the design and optimization of the joints on the bag filter.
